Description Were seeking an experienced Front-End Architect to lead the development of next-generation e-commerce solutions, including high-performance web applications and Progressive Web Apps (PWA. This role combines technical leadership with hands-on architecture to drive innovation across our e-commerce platforms. Role Overview As the Architect, youll lead the technical direction for one of our distributed engineering teams (30+ engineers across Europe and the USA, building cutting-edge solutions for major brands while ensuring optimal performance and scalability. Key Responsibilities Design and implement sophisticated front-end architectures using Next.js and modern web technologies Provide technical leadership and mentorship to development teams Drive architectural decisions around state management, deployment strategies, and performance optimization Collaborate with Product Management and cross-functional teams to define and implement new features Establish coding standards and best practices for the engineering organization Optimize applications for speed, scalability, and Core Web Vitals Requirements Required Skills & Experience 7+ years of front-end development experience with proven architectural experience leading 3+ person teams Expert-level knowledge of Next.js, React, and modern JavaScript Strong experience with Shopify development, including: Building custom Shopify apps Implementing Shopify OAuth flow and API integration Experience with Shopifys Hydrogen framework (optional Understanding of Shopifys App Store requirements and submission process Deep understanding of server-side rendering, edge computing, and modern web architecture Expertise in performance optimization, including CDN configuration and Core Web Vitals Strong knowledge of TypeScript and build tooling Experience with utility-first CSS frameworks (Tailwind CSS, shadcn UI Proficiency with CI/CD pipelines and cloud infrastructure (AWS, Vercel Advanced Technical Knowledge Experience with Next.js App Router and React Server Components Understanding of advanced caching strategies and data fetching patterns Knowledge of serverless architectures and edge functions Experience with state management solutions (Redux, Zustand, Jotai Familiarity with e-commerce platforms (Shopify, SFCC, BigCommerce Preferred Qualifications Experience with analytics implementations (Google Analytics, GTM Knowledge of authentication solutions (NextAuth.js Familiarity with headless CMS platforms Experience with composable commerce architecture This is a remote, full-time position working with a globally distributed team.
